Noly was a proud member of the LGBT+ community and fondly known as “Sophia”. She spent over a decade in Japan, where she learned the language and lived out her dream as a professional dancer before finally moving to the US. Noly enjoyed dancing, singing, volleyball, and playing tongits and bingo with her family. She also enjoyed watching movies, musicals, game shows, and was a devoted follower of the annual Miss Universe pageant. Noly was a generous and caring woman, especially when it came to her Ate Rlyn (Erlinda). Her colorful personality never went unnoticed—she could turn any moment into a runway show and was known for her uniquely humorous catchphrases. The warmth of her laughter, the beauty of her smile, and the joy of her presence will be deeply missed and surely never forgotten.
Noly is survived by her sisters, Vilma (Charles) Jones of TX, and Erlinda Alexander of SC; her brothers, Amir Echipare, Joseph (Daisy) Echipare of SC, and Stacy Echipare of the Philippines; her sisters-in-law, Michelle Kinard and Ofelia Echipare of SC; her nieces, Maria (Sergio) Gonzalez and Michelle (Anthony) Martinez of TX, Ferruz Echipare, Victoria Echipare, Nikki (Cam) Alexander, and Tiffany Browne of SC; and her nephews, Theodore (Sarah) Martinez of TN, Ziellueh Echipare of the Philippines, Charleston (Ronamae) Ignacio of MO, Daryl (Kat) Echipare, Theodore (Sheng) Ignacio, Sean Kinard, and Zachary Echipare of SC. She also leaves behind sixteen great-nieces and nephews, and many more relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Teodoro Echipare Jr.; sister, Louisa Echipare, and great-niece Theodora Martinez.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
