One of my favorite memories of Ray was when he visited us in Washington State and he went fishing with Mick and Greg. They brought back several salmon and were on the deck in the process of filleting the fish on an old picnic table. The three of them were arguing about the best method to fillet and about who had the best knife skills. It was both humorous and heartwarming to see the brothers and the camaraderie that ensued. My hugs and love are sent to the whole family as we remember a very special man.

The three of us grew up with a dad who could do and fix just about anything and a mother who trusted us to do the right thing. Ray had that inner drive to never give up on anything he did and he proved just that when on a fishing trip with the kids and myself in Montana when we drained the battery on his truck making coffee and cup-o-soups. Instead of going for help about 5 miles away, which would have been my plan,we pushed and pushed the truck dropping the clutch when ever we could get it over the rough pot holes of a camping area, Ray's plan. Finally, on the downhill side of said potholes Dennis, probably six at the time, dropped the clutch and the truck took off with Ray knocking him out of the way while he jumped in and hit neutral. We all cheered and wiped the sweat from our brows, charged the battery and made more cup-o-soups. His plan worked. I've never seen Ray give up on anything.
I'll miss you.
Love you brother

I shall not forget :
Watching Ray , David and Dennis catch that 30+ lb Chinook salmon
at Freshwater Bay.
Fishing at Dungeness when the killer whales came through, one swam below the boat and turned up and look at us. The look on Rays face was priceless.
The hunt in Montana when Ray shot that huge 5 point Muley with Dads old Winchester 30-06. Best hunt ever.
Mostly ,when Greg and I were young and big brother Ray would have to intervene and make sure its a fair "difference of opinion."
Love You Brother
