Richard was born in Chicago, I, a son of the late William J. Greenwood and Rose Marie Dato Greenwood. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, retiring with over 20 years service. He also taught Machine Tool Technology at Trident Technical College for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 47years, Teresa Greenwood, son: Carl Greenwood, daughter: Jan Greenwood, Richard "Ricky" Greenwood Jr., grandchildren: Jillian Greenwood and Braxsten Greenwood, sister: Barbara Greenwood Bates and brother: Ewald Greenwood, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
