A Life Remembered . . .Robert C. Fox, Jr., son of Robert C. Fox, Sr. and Elvera (Ollenburger) Fox, unexpectedly passed away January 8, 2020 near Woodland Park, CO. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Carolina Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, Charleston, SC at 3:00 pm. Family will receive friends before the service from 1:30 – 3:00 pm.
He was born December 12, 1956 in Greenville, SC. His early years were spent in Greenville, SC, Garland, TX, Panama City, FL and Lakewood, CO. He graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC with a major in music and a proficiency in trombone. He and his first wife, Regina Dunlap, were married August 23, 1980. He got his Masters Degree in Trombone Performance at the University of SC, and was a music director at several churches and schools for 30 years. He and Regina had settled in Charleston, SC for many years. Robert moved to CO in 2010 and worked various jobs before getting his license in the insurance industry. He married his second wife, Sherry Howell, July 7, 2017 and settled in Colorado Springs (CS).
You could always find him listening to a vast variety of music, off-roading in the mountains with his Jeep, being in the outdoors, communicating with friends on Facebook and following his favorite college football team, the Oklahoma Sooners.
Robert (aka Bob, Rob or Bobby) was a very likeable, energetic, articulate, studious, self-disciplined, analytical and witty person. He loved meeting new people, grilling out and having company over. He spent almost every morning in his grandmother’s rocking chair having coffee and spending time reading his Bible.
He leaves behind his loving family including his wife, Sherry, of CS; two daughters, Kristen (Trevor) Lawson and Amanda Fox, both of Charleston, SC; one son, J. Marshall Fox of Charleston, SC; his father, Robert (Bonnie) of CS, CO; his brother, Ron (Beth) of Ellenton, FL; his sister, Cheri (Tyler) Iversen of Grimes, IA; two grandsons, Carson and Ellis Lawson of Charleston, SC; five step children, Jeremy Hogg, Kevin (Bethany) Hogg, Daniel Hogg, all of CS; Tami Hogg of Portland, OR, Sarah Hogg of CS and six step grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Elvera Fox, in 2001.
