

Sandra Way Perry passed away on March 1, 2023 at home on James Island. Sandra slipped away in the early morning quietly and peacefully. Born to Adelle B. and Frank M Way on December 19, 1941, at Baker Hospital, in Charleston, SC.
Sandra Attended Ashley Hall and graduated in 1959. She furthered her education at Columbia College. Sandra settles in Georgetown after school where she met the love of her life, James Durward Perry. They marred on June 30, 1962. Their marriage would stand the test of time. As Jim would put it “60 years, 8 months, 1 day, 40 hours, and roughly 30 minutes.”
Sandra was predeceased by her beloved sister Gene Simmons of Mt. Pleasant.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband James Durward Perry; her sons James D. Perry of Anchorage Ak, and Robert D. Perry of Folly Beach SC; her daughter in-laws Kimberly and Melanie; and 6 grandchildren Lindsey, Hayley, Tristan, Bo, Ashley, and Julia; her brother Frank Way of Pensacola FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the children she cared for over the years.
Known for her infectious smile and huge heart, she as a gift to all that were a part of her life. Let us no weep and mourn because she is gone, but rejoice, smile and be grateful that she was here.
The family is keeping the services private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Charleston Miracle League in her honor.
