Shelley Anne Hannah was born in South Carolina on June 29th, 1939, to Gilbert Grady Price and Nancy Mae Price. She was the youngest child of the family, and accompanied by her four older siblings; Doris R. Price, Ruby Mae Sports, Elvin Grady “Sonny” Price, and Wendell Herbert Price. She stayed in regular contact with her siblings throughout her life, visiting them often and caring for them when they were ill. Shelley deeply loved her family just as they deeply loved her.
Shelley would meet the love of her life at Air Force Basic Training, Jimmie Jerald Hannah. They would be wed to one another on May 9th, 1960. For over 55 years, they would share an incredible marriage that would see them living across America, before Shelley finally requested their final home to be back where her life began, in South Carolina. Her husband, never one to cause his wife trouble, happily obliged. Shelley deeply loved her husband, just as he deeply loved her.
Their marriage, along with countless happy memories, would bless them with their two pride and joys. The first arrived on July 15th, 1961, Renee Boyles. The second arrived on August 18th, 1965, Rachelle Hannah. Shelley would care for both daughters as they grew up and led fantastic lives of their own. Shelley deeply loved her daughters, just as they deeply loved her.
Her daughters would go on to give their loving mother three grandchildren. Renee with her husband Jeffrey Boyles (a man that Shelley loved as her own son) would give her one granddaughter, Alyssa Herndon. Rachelle would give her two grandsons, Tyler and Chase Mondovich. As each of these grandchildren would venture forth into the world on their own paths, Shelley happily supported each of them and bragged to anyone who would listen about the exciting adventures her grandchildren were undergoing. Shelley deeply loved her grandchildren, just as they deeply loved her.
Shelley Anne Hannah lived a life defined by love for those around her. Each of her family and friends were important to her. Her home was filled with treasured photos of the people she cared about, and even strangers would learn through conversation with her about the many achievements her loved ones had accomplished. Shelley Anne Hannah is survived by her two daughters and three grandchildren, all of whom will miss her.
May we all strive to love as deeply as she did.
