Born on March 11, 1951, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the cherished youngest daughter of the late Frederick Leon Hamilton and Georgia Lee Smoak Hamilton. She grew up in the North Charleston area and was a proud 1971 graduate of Chicora High School.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Eutawville, she was a devout and faithful Christian. Shirley lived a life beautifully marked by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to God and her family. She shared 50 wonderful years of marriage (55 total) with her devoted husband, Wayne Cecil Hinson. Together, they built a home defined by laughter, patience, and absolute support, creating a sanctuary of love that will sustain her family for generations to come.
She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. Beyond her deep devotion to her household, she found immense joy in spending time with extended family and friends, working in her yard, traveling, and the loyal companionship of her late beloved dog, Lucky. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and comforting presence brought joy and light to everyone who knew her, and her absence leaves a profound void.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Wayne; her beloved children, Casey Wayne Hinson and his wife, Jessica Hinman Hinson, and Patrick Wayne Hinson and his wife, Rachel Marie Deskin-Hinson; and her adoring granddaughter, Georgia Ann Hinson, daughter of Casey and Jessica. She also leaves behind dear siblings, Linda Hamilton Hood and Jimmie Leon Hamilton, along with a host of extended family, nieces and nephews, and close friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frederick and Georgia.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family devotion will live on forever in the hearts of those she left behind, and she will be deeply, profoundly missed.
