

Teri M. Sturdivant, age 59, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Born in Charleston, on October 30, 1965, Teri was the beloved daughter of the late James and Bettye McGee. She was a proud graduate of North Charleston High School and spent her life deeply rooted in the Lowcountry community she loved.
Teri is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Richard Sturdivant, and their cherished feline companions: Colee, Tiny Kitty, and Phoebe.
She also leaves behind her sister, Renee Morton (Gregg), her brother Mike McGee (Vicki), and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
A natural nurturer, Teri spent 19 years as a preschool teacher at the “Child’s Day Out” program at Old Fort Baptist Church, where her kindness, patience, and joyful spirit shaped the lives of countless children and families. She will be remembered not only as a teacher but as a guiding light in the lives of those she touched. Teri had a deep love for spending time near the water—whether sailing on a cruise or relaxing by her pool, she found peace and joy in those moments. Young at heart, she especially treasured her adventures to Disney World with her husband, where they shared laughter, wonder, and cherished memories. Fiercely loving and loyal, Teri’s greatest devotion was to her family and friends. Her warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege to know her.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406,
with graveside inurnment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family would like to extend an invitation to their guests in attendance to join them at their residence following the services on Friday.
