Tony Nikolov (Ivaylo Borisov Nikolov) SANTEE, SC - Tony Nikolov, 75 years old, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015. He was born on March 11, 1940 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Growing up in Communist Bulgaria, he suffered from political persecution and decided to escape the country in the early 70s. After coming to America, he married and started a small real estate company in the Charleston area with his wife. Tony enjoyed fishing, traveling, and he loved to tinker and fix things. In life, he was never afraid to speak his mind, was always there to lend a helping hand, and loved joking and bringing smiles to peoples' faces. He was a pillar of the Bulgarian community in Charleston and in South Carolina, and he will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Maria Nikolov, and daughter, Nellie Nikolov. A memorial service will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston,SC at 3 PM on Sunday August 30th, 2015.
