Velma Bonnie Ross

Bonnie was born in Umatilla, Florida, September 5, 1941, daughter of the late J. Otis Brown and Evelyn Y. Brown.

Bonnie was predeceased by her loving husband Jimmy, and sisters Pamela E. Brown and Barbara Brown Smith.

She is survived by daughters Tara Ross of Johns Island and Tracie Lista (Joel), granddaughters Caroline Lista and Elizabeth Lista of James Island, honorary grandson Robbie Hempton of Johns Island, sisters Carol Hoyt of St. Petersburg, Florida and Norma Sizemore of Warner Robins, Georgia, brother David O. Brown of Georgetown, S.C. and sister-in-law Elizabeth Henson of James Island.

Bonnie was a graduate of North Charleston High School. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Bonnie loved her family dearly and was affectionately known as "Nana" to her granddaughters, who were her greatest pride and joy.

The family will hold a private graveside service on Thursday, July 28 at 11 AM.
