William Allen Adams 85 died, May 7 ,2016 at home. He was born in Cottageville, South Carolina, son of R. Allen and Winnie Adams. He graduated from North Charleston High School and Clemson University and served in the U.S. Army for 25 years. He was a Vietnam War veteran and retired as a colonel. After retirement, he served as the Dorchester County Veterans’ Affairs Officer. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, the Military Officers’ Association, and the American Legion. Surviving are his wife Millie, daughter Susan (Tim Jones), son Michael (Shirley Adams), granddaughters Elizabeth (David Coons) and Michelle Adams, grandson Ryan Adams, great granddaughter Alexis Coons, and sister Virginia (Glenn Gray). He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rosalie Bestul and Pauline Kenney. Graveside services will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens on Thursday at 1100 am, with Visitation prior from 9:30 am on at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406
