Mr. William Bill Owens

William Owens, 86, of Round “O”, SC, husband of Mary Owens, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 27, 2014 surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. The relatives and friends of William Owens are invited to attend a service to celebrate his life on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME chapel, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 1, 2014 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. William was born February 22, 1928 in Ironton, OH , the oldest son of the late William R. and Bertha Martin Owens. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 26 years and upon retirement became the purchasing director of Old Dominion University. A patient and loving man, he is survived by his wife Mary ( the love of his life) to which he was married over 60 years, sons: William Jr. and Gary Alvin, daughter: Vanessa Jo, 5 brothers: Eddy,Don, Glen, Dick and Lee, 5 sisters: Jean, Helen, Juanita, Doloris and Nancy . He had 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Roger Dale and brothers: Don and Glenn Owens.
