It was an absolute pleasure knowing your mom. I always remember her smiling and laughing. She was always ready to go to a party and enjoy life. Even if she was sick or she had just come out of the hospital, she would be ready to get dressed up and celebrate. That will always stick with me because she loved life and never let things get her down. I loved that about her. I always loved going over Christmas Eve and seeing this large family just having fun being together. She created this big beautiful family and I'm just so glad that I have been able to be a small part of that. She will be missed but absolutely never forgotten. You are all in my prayers and I'm always here for all of you.

I met this beautiful Angel when I was just barely 18, and both her and her husband almost immediately welcomed me into their lives, into their home, into their family, and into their hearts, without reservations, without any prejudice, no questions asked, ever. The circumstances of our meeting changed over the years, but never their love. She was part of my College graduation, my wedding, my baby shower, the birth of my children, and the occasional trips to Las Vegas, and for years, all the special cakes in my life had the “Torres” imprint on them. She went from being “doña Angelina” to becoming “tia Angelina”. She taught me that you don’t have to be birth family to become family. Tia Angie, thanks for the memories, for being a part of my life, and for allowing me the privilege of being part of yours. May all your days in Heaven be happy, until we meet again. All our love.
