When Catherina (Cathy) Muller began to strongly express her desire to join her husband, God declared “well done, good and faithful servant...” (Matt 25:23) as He answered her prayer and took her “home” peacefully.
Born in Indonesia to Augustus Taulu and Maria Waney Taulu, she was one of seven children and the last surviving.
Cathy met and married Gerrit Jan Arends in Indonesia in 1940 and had one son, Gerrit, in 1941. After losing her first husband during WWII, she met Jan T Muller in Indonesia and they married in 1946 and had their first child, Julia, in 1947. In 1950, the Mullers left Indonesia, emigrated to the Netherlands for almost seven years, where their son, Harry, was born in 1951.
In 1957, the family emigrated to California where they lived a full life and became born-again Christians.
Cathy and her husband, Jan, were members, and volunteered for many years, at the Shepherd of the Hills Church, Porter Ranch, CA. They were also longtime volunteers (15 years) at Northridge Hospital, Northridge, CA. Cathy also became the hospital’s Assistant Chaplain for several years. Whether it was at church, hospital, family gatherings, or out in public, she never failed to share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ.
