Charlie was one of the nicest people I met in my early career in magazine publishing.
I was a new publisher representative for Independent news, Warner Publisher Services, in Burbank in 1977. Argus magazines was a client of Warner and Charlie would visit the publisher room to review work we did on their enthusiast publications. He must have seen I was new to the area and asked if I like sports.  We went to Dodgers and Rams games a few times, and he always brought a special sandwich with him to share.  His kindness and character had a great impact on my career and I treated new people in the same way as my life moved on. I know I'm one of many he touched.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Charlie for thirty years. His engaging smile and easy conversation won me over the very first time I met him. We became more than a  doctor- patient relationship- we became friends. And he always asked about all my family and remembered where they were and what they were doing. He loved coming to my house for holidays and enjoyed my homemade caramel corn. He then started sending me caramel corn and frequently brought my office caramel corn when he came in for checkups! It sounds cliche, but to know Charlie was to love him!
 
 I’m sorry I don’t get to celebrate his life  with his family and friends but I will always cherish his memory and am glad that our paths crossed and that our lives were untwined for as long as they were.

The first time my sisters (Chris and Kathy) and I remember meeting Uncle Charlie was when we were in grade school and he visited St. Louis for Grandma Pollock’s birthday party.  After that, it was nearly an annual visit.  Every time he visited, it was a block your calendar 3-4 day event to spend as much time with him as possible.  Throughout the years we loved hosting him in our homes, doing all things St. Louis  with him and culminating with a BBQ at mom and dad’s on Sunday.  Equally, our children, all now in their 30’s have the same fond memories.  Rest In Peace Uncle Charlie

Uncle Charlie you will forever be in our hearts.  All the wonderful times when you came to St. Louis and when Marge, Kathy and I came to LA to see you.  The memory of going to Disney Land and riding Space Mountain and you wanting to go again and running to get back in line.  The fun Mark and I had playing golf with you and Aunt Marge.  All the phone calls and so much more to mention.  You were a special person to all of us.  You wil never be forgotten.  Love you.

Uncle Charlie was such a special Man to us!   So many wonderful memories with him when he came to St. Louis to visit all of us!    He was dearly Loved by us!   Another Angle protecting  us through this life!
