Deidra was born on May 20, 1959 in Burbank, Ca and was a part of that community for almost her entire life. She grew up in a humble house on Jeffries, the youngest of five children and would later go on to buy that house to raise her own three children in. After meeting Geno at work, they were married and built their life together in the Burbank community. Deidra wanted to be home with her children so she started a home-based daycare business which then led her to work within the Burbank School District. She eventually went on to realize her dream of becoming a teacher; she went back to school, earned her credential and would teach at the very same elementary school she herself, and all of her children attended.
Outside of the work she loved; Deidra’s greatest joy was being a devoted grandmother. She traveled across the country, to multiple states to visit her seven grandchildren as often as she could and be the best “Mimi” ever!
She lives on in the memories of her husband of 41 years Geno, her children Rachel, Spencer and Austin, her grandchildren Ophelia, Odette, Francesca, Felix, Cody, Daniel and Rocky, and in the countless others who knew and loved her.
