September 17, 1924 – January 2, 2021
Enrique E. Valencia, as he was formally known by his college classmates, his colleagues, and clients. His family, relatives and friends called him “IKE”. To us he’s just plain ol’ Dad.
Dad is an intelligent and hardworking man. He was a successful architect. He was proud of his carrer. He created beauty and strength and showed with all the houses and buildings he made.
With these ideals he saw beauty in Catalina “Nena” Marella. They married in 1955 and had 5 children. Dad was always serious when it comes to his work. Always giving 110 percent effort. But his humor was un-measurable when he is with us. We almost thought he was a standup comedian on the side. We will miss all of these things that he shared with us. The laughter and tears. The lessons in life. When we’re wrong, he’ll correct us. When we’re hurting, he will comfort us.
Dad need not be idealized when it comes to his passing, more than what he was when he was still alive. We simply want to remember him as a good and decent man, father and friend. He feared God the most that his love for Him is impeccable and unwavering. In a bittersweet moment, we may have lost Dad, who we have loved so dearly but he has found his way back safely in the hands of God. We love you so much Dad. You will surely be missed.
Dad is survived by his four Children Emmaline, Evangeline, Roberto and Eleanor.
His death was preceded by his wife Catalina and his eldest daughter Elizabeth.
Visitation will be at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Funeral Homes on Feb 18th at 12:30 PM, Funeral Mass at 1:30 pm, Burial rites at 2:30pm.
