Jerry, 
The residents of Vineland Avenue Senior Housing and I sure do miss your ever-present smile. You were a force of energy that we all thoroughly enjoyed and, though you had to leave us too soon, we will never forget you.
Rest in heavenly peace.

I was one of the Sign Language Interpreters at First AME church in Los Angeles.  Jerry was one of our most faithful members of our Deaf Ministry.  He attended every week, always smiling and encouraging the Interpreters! He was filled with so much joy!  What an amazing spirit! He will be missed.  Condolences to the Chissell family in Louisiana! God bless!

My Dear Jerry, I know you can't hear me. We had many good times. I can see you now, in my mind's  eyes. You had a huge smile on your face, coming across the driveway. You just couldn't wait to see me.  Of course, I couldn't wait to open the door for you. We wrote pages and pages of talk to each other. One day soon, I hope to see you in Paradise.  Before Adam and Eve sinned they lived in Paradise. When they sinned they were put out of Paradise. God sent His only begotten Son to undue what they had done. Jesus died on a stake for us. Jesus opened the way for us to live in Paradise. That is what the,  "Our Father's Pray"  is all about. It says ,  our Father  in heaven, let your Kingdom, your Government come on earth as it is in Heaven. It says come on "Earth."  So, I hope to see you on earth, 
in Paradise.  I have always loved you. Your darling niece, Alice Lee

As Jerry's long-time friends and neighbors at Vineland Avenue Senior Housing, we are deeply saddened to learn of your loss, and we would like to extend our sincerest condolences during this difficult time. 

Jerry was a joyful and wonderful presence, here at Vineland Avenue, and we are certainly going to miss seeing his ever-present smile that endeared him to all of the residents who had the honor of knowing him. 

In the days ahead, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers... and we thank you for sharing Jerry with us. He was a remarkably kind and beautiful friend, who taught us just how lucky we were to have him in our lives.
