Marion Louise Fields

Marion Louise Fields, age 98, of Valencia, CA. passed away on February 7, 2024. Marion was born on Monday November 23, 1925 in Inglewood, CA. Her proud parents were Harold & Anna Hoser. Marion, her parents & her sister Phyllis lived in Hollywood, CA. She grew up during the Great Depression. Food & shoes were rationed. She was raised with traditional values such as hard work, loyalty and thriftiness. Marion & her sister played checkers, jacks & rode in their wagon. WWII was taking place when she was a teenager. Her parents had servicemen over for meals since many were far from home. As a teen Marion would go with her friends to the Hollywood Palladium to dance & listen to music. Marion graduated from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, CA. in 1942. Marion had 3 husbands that she outlived. Harold, James & Harley. She had 3 children Bruce, Doreen & Wayne. Wayne passed away at age 2. Bruce passed away on Dec. 11, 2023. Marion was a housewife & mother for 78 years. Dinner was always ready at 5:30 PM sharp. Washing was done with a wringer washer & hung on a clothesline to dry. Birthdays & holidays were always celebrated with long-established traditions. Marion made sure her family took a summer vacation each year. There were always family game nights. Her children were her remote control for her TV. Every Sunday she made sure her family was at church at 9 AM sharp. Marion & her husband James Hartley were members of the Masonic Lodge in Van Nuys. They danced many nights to the Glenn Miller Orchestra & Frank Sinatra & Doris Day songs. Marion lived in the San Fernando Valley for 44 years & in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 20 years. Marion will always be remembered for her kindness. She always recognized her family & friends’ birthdays. She sent greeting cards to all of them. At 98 Marion was the Matriarch of her family. Marion is now an Angel in heaven. She leaves behind her daughter Doreen Sandusky, son in law James Sandusky & daughter in law Sue Fields. Grandchildren- Randy Sandusky, Gloria Snipes, Steven Sandusky, Renae Sandusky, Denise Kalish, Donna Case, Nissan Fields. Great Grandchildren-Melissa Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Dylan Sandusky, Austin Sandusky, Ashley Sandusky, Justina Kalish, Caitlin Case, Crystal Case. Great-Great Grandchildren-Dallas Nichols, Bryce Nichols, Ethan Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Kaden Diechler, Ocean Fields & Dakota Fields. Nieces & Nephews- The Talley Family, Scott, Cristina, Nathan, Isabelle, Joseph, Ireland, Isaiah, Caleb, Scarlet, Jonathan, Evangeline, Ezekiel & Ben.
