Paul Harris Norwood

January 7, 1935 – June 5, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Harris Norwood, who departed this life peacefully at his residence in Simi Valley, California, on June 5, 2026, at the age of 91.

Paul was born on January 7, 1935, in Compton, California. He was a faithful man, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. As the youngest of two sons, Paul was raised in a family that instilled in him the values of faith, kindness, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Beatrice Norwood; his brother, Raymond Norwood; and his parents, Alonzo “Lonnie” Norwood and Kathleen Norwood.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Cynthia Hawthorne, Timothy Norwood, Rebecca Fox, and Robin Riba; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild, all of whom were blessed by his steadfast love, wisdom, and example.

Paul met the love of his life, Beatrice, at Idyllwild Bible School. Together they shared a deep love for God and dedicated their lives to serving Him. They faithfully read His Word, preached their faith, attended ecclesial activities, and sought to live according to biblical principles. Their marriage was a testament to their enduring devotion to one another and to their faith.

Paul worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 30 years in the mail order department. After retirement, he worked at MiniMed, where he distributed mail to employees and enjoyed remaining active and connected with others.

A lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Paul attended many games over the years and delighted in following his favorite team. He also cherished time spent with family, especially while playing cards and board games, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Paul will be remembered for his kindness, friendly spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family and friends. His gentle presence and faithful example have left a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.

A Committal Service will be held at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and Mortuary, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606, on June 26, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Simi Hills Christadelphian Ecclesia in Simi Valley, California.

Though he will be deeply missed, Paul’s family rejoices in the hope he held throughout his life and finds comfort in the many blessings of his years among them.
