Just letting you know Ron that I miss you very much!

Ronnie, as I knew him, was one of my high school boyfriends.  One who held a special place in my heart.  It is just so unbelievable that he is gone and for that I am so very sorry for his wife and family!  It is just unbelievable that he was take so young before his time.  I can only believe that God has his plan for all of us and this is what he planned however hard it is for us to understand.  In this tragedy I have made a friend, his wife Marilyn, which I thank God for. Perhaps this is what God intended, I don't know but I accept it for what it is.  I will miss Ronnie but not as much as his family as I wasn't as close as they were.  I pray that Ronnie has found peace and that his family can find the same.

My darling husband....this is not goodbye as we promised we would not say those words, but just goodbye for now.  Thank you for teaching me to love and to know the all consuming love of a best friend, companion, lover, and confidant.  Our love was truly one of a kind and as I promised you years ago on the day that I told you I loved you......"Ron my love I will always love you forever and ever!"  Those words are written on your arm along with my name because that was our promise to each other.  You my love are one of a kind and will never be forgotten.......until we meet again....."What makes the Robin sing?"  "My Love"!

Eulogy for Ron Battaglia Sr.

Ron was a man of many talents. To me he was my father.  Ron was the man always on my side, no matter what happened.  

Thirteen years isn't enough time with him.  Although, he will always be with me while I drive through the streets of L. A.  He is the man that showed me California.  Before he went away I use to tell people, Oh my god, have you ever been to Philippe's in downtown? It has the best French Dips. Oh, you have to try Lido's? Ever had a fishgnish from Jerry's Deli? Now I didn't  say that because it's known for that. I said it because that's what Ron told me since I was little and didn't really understand how infamous these restaurants were.  I would go and tell people about these places that Ron introduced me to.  He will always be in the back of my mind.   I would smile at the good times we had.  Things have changed.  Now these places have more meaning, and more encouragement for me to revisit them throughout California.  Ron's memory lives in me. 
Ron didn't just take me to amazing restaurants; he showed me music, which isn't surprising since it was a major love of his.  Growing up I had no musical diversity.  Ron introduced me to oldies, rock, country and more.  I will always be reminded of you.  Ron even taught me to play guitar. 
Ron also showed me how to love with my whole heard.  As said by many people even if you knew him for 5 minutes you were his best friend.  I have learned this from him.  He granted all people beingingness which is something I try to do in my everyday life.  He made everyone feel special.  I have never met anyone else that can do it like him. 
Ron loved to have everyone over to hang out.  He loved to cook, growing up with him I would spend hours in the kitchen.  He taught me how to cook with love.  No recipes, no measuring.  It was a dash of this, handful of that and it always needed more garlic and salt.  
Ron I can't believe you are gone.  A part of me still thinks I can pop on over and see you.  I know I may no longer physically do this, but you best believe I am with you in spirit and you with me.  Everyday, every minute of every second, forever and ever *taps hand on heart and hand on head*

Every time I think of you I will smile. 
Thank you for the time we had together will forever be in my heart, thoughts. Much respect and will never be forgotten.

I was my Dad's buddy for 41 years. In that time I have watched him do so much, and learned so much from him. My father was people person he was extremely charming, had an amazing sense of humor, was loving, warmhearted, and very giving. I have been told I got those qualities from him and also picked up on his wonderful ability to tell a story! Boy, did he do that well! We were always entertained!

He always wanted to be his own boss, liked to be the foreman on the jobeven when telling his sons how to do a job at home! Boy, did he do that well too! 

As a result he built a BIG RESUME over the years and was a passionate man with a lot of hobbies and interests and did everything to the fullestand I do mean everything! He was larger than life and was always busy with something! 

As we spoke about his life we came up with this list of the things he did

•He was a line Mechanic for Chevrolet in New York, 
•Oil Rig worker in Ventura, 
•Butcher, 
•Security Guard, 
•Bell Chevrolet as a salesman in La Crescenta, 
•Abbot and Hast, 
•Sunland vacuum truck service (Cesspool Company)
•Mayor elector for the Sunland-Tujunga community,  
•He built monster trucks as hobby and created Hercules, 
•Owner and Cook of sweet cherry's diner, 
•Yellow freight as a truck driver, 
•Used car salesman and car lot owner, 
•Helicopter pilot as a hobby, 
•Animal regulation as a part-time volunteer, 
•Central Transportation (Mortuary transportation company), 
•My Baseball coach, 
•House moving, 
•Sterling Restaurant owner and operator, 
•General Contractor on and off throughout the years,
•Plumber, 
•West coast animal relocating, 
•Musician (member of the band Hired guns)
•And Band Manger the Angeles, 
•Car Transportation Company, 
•Central towing, 
•Cargo Towing, 
•Repo Man, 
•Magic Valley Towing, 
•Horseback riding (and had 4 horse during his life that he lovedSnipper, Rahena, Rosie, most recently Dakota) 
•Golden State storage manager and groundkeeper, 
•Restaurant Manager. 
•Business owner (Air-jet Pumps) 
•Aspiring actor, cowboy, Mafia Man, biker, 
•Humanitarian U.B.A.K.A, B.A.C.A., Founder of Defenders Against Child Abuse, 
•Certified home inspector, 
•Pigeon enthusiast, from a child in New York to an adultand as most recently as about 7 or 8 years ago he had a coop with about 100 pigeons in it that he would fly.

His Willingness to be there for his family was foreverhe loved cooking for usmade killer sauce and meatballs. He loved cream puffs, cannoli's, banana cream pie, ice tea and watermelon juice, among everything else delicious! 

We loved watching action or western movies together and enjoyed listening to music together. He could name the band and year of the song to whatever we were listing to like an encyclopedia. 

He was always only a phone call away with his wealth of knowledge. I am sorry that my sons will not get the privilege of learning from him and his life experiences as they grow. 

He is my Father, my children's Grandfather (and we called him The Grandfather just like the Godfather), And MY BEST FRIEND and I will miss him with all my heart! 

Until we meet again Dad, I love you.

Eulogy by Son- Joseph Battaglia

My Pop was a man of pure heart. When it came to living his life it was always about the emotion behind the act; the sentiment. When thinking about what I wanted to get him for his birthday this year, I knew it had to be something to fit the man. What I found couldn't have been any more perfect. On his second day in the hospital he was sporting his new shirt that appropriately read "Pop. The Man. The Myth. The Legend."
So, let's start by talking about the man. See, My Pop had a big heart filled with family, friends, food, and stories. Pop was the type who met you one time and you were automatically a good friend. He would always tell me, in his best Italian New Yorker accent, "Joey, you would never believe who I ran into." Every time, whoever this person was that he saw, would yell, "Ronnie! And came up to me and gave me a big hug. Can you believe it?" We rarely knew who Pop was talking about, but to him, that person was a cherished member of his inner crew. Over the past few weeks I have seen and heard from so many of these people. From old coworkers, to neighbors who became family when I was growing up, it is clearer than ever that whoever Pop befriended was a friend no matter how much time passed. All these people and relationships, the adventures and ventures that he partook in with them, are what made Pop complete. I am sure that many of you have stories about the times that I am talking about. Thank you for loving and being a part of the stories and experiences that made The Man.
Next, the Myth. You all well know that when you sat down with my Pop you were in for a story that would be hard to decipher what was fact and what was fiction. Sometimes his stories were so elaborate he couldn't even follow what he was saying. But, his intentions were to always tell the truth while entertaining you at the same time. He was an entertainer in every part of his life, from his music to his stories, there was never a dull moment being with Pop.
This brings me to my Pop, the Legend. Over the past several years Pop and I took up a few hobbies that allowed us to spend more time together. We started fishing at Castaic Lake nearly every weekend one summer. He would come and pick me up before the sun rose; we spent all day on the lake listening to music and reminiscing about life, and wouldn't get home until the sun went down. These are some of my favorite memories with my Pop. One day we were talking about getting Harley's, so we did. Pop got his first, then I ran out and got mine. This started our next adventure. We enjoyed riding our bikes around our little town of Tujunga and cruising the mean streets and canyons of Santa Clarita. We all know that Pop wouldn't do anything small, so he became the President of his very own biker club, Defenders Against Child Abuse. Like I said, Pop was a man of pure heart, and if he was going to start something for bikers, it was going to be something that was meaningful as well.
There is not a moment in the day that goes by that I don't think about my Pop, or that doing day to day things don't remind me of Pop. The times we shared together, especially over these past few years bonding as men, are the things that I hold close and that keep me going. I know I will see my Pop again, at the Big Tow Yard in the Sky, or the Big Storage Unit in the Sky. The place he always said he was going eventually, depending on what profession he was doing at that point in this life.

Pop, we love you so much, miss you so much already. We will ride together again one day. Until then, I will keep you in my heart and my thoughts; My Pop, the Man, The Myth, The Legend.

 Ron, I met you when I was around 16 years old (now I'm 31 years Young) You took me under your wing like as if I was your daughter!  You always showered me with love and sweet words every time I would see you! I have  hundreds  and thousands of memories of our journey in life together, which I am so grateful for!! I feel so honored and blessed that you are a part of my life story! And you got to see me grow up into a woman and have children and you got to be a part of all that. That means the world to me!!!!    Even in the last few weeks of your life in the hospital, you would light up when I would show you pictures of my kids and  smile!  You would tell me how much you love me!!! That warms my heart!!!  Just know I feel so blessed for every moment we got to share together! I love you so dearly!  I know you're resting in paradise now looking over us all!!! I love you pops always and forever!!!  Till we meet again....

I met Ronnie as my neighbor when I was in 8th grade in Brooklyn later became friends in hs at Erasmus Hall. He was always smiling and loved music and life. His parents were great. We lost touch until Facebook a few years ago. He told me of his precious family and Marilyn who was his angel. My condolences to all his loved ones. God bless and watch over you. You're missed Ronnie.

Well my friend. You was taking to soon you had a lot of life still in you was a great friend we will miss you and you will never be forgotten love you Ron and our prayers  go out for your family

Through the past 15+ years we've met often at family gatherings. You were always kind, soft spoken, gentle, and fun. Your love of horses, birds, and motorcycles were fun and interesting, but your love for your family was always at the forefront of your heart. You will be missed, greatly, but we know that you are only a thought away for now. You will be kept close to our hearts, until we meet again.

Brother I will miss you.... You were a dedicated man who had a great heart for the abused children everywhere.... I will remember the few cases of abuse you and I assisted each other with.... And we both reaped the rewards of knowing that we were successful and made that difference....  As you ride with the angels.... Keep a eye on the children and the brothers and sisters who are carrying on with the vision of the mission brother.... MLLH&R

Your constant love and willingness to be there for us will never be forgotten. You are in the fiber of our beings and I see you in my boys every time I look into their eyes. Until we meet again one day...we LOVE you..and trust that Families are FOREVER! We know you are reunited with your family that has gone before you, Lia...your Mom...Kiss them from us!! You will remain in our thoughts and hearts forever!
