With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Rosa Dina Garcia, a cherished mother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend. Rosa passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at her sister, Norma Elizabeth’s, home in Panorama City, California, after a courageous seven-year battle with metastatic ovarian cancer. She was 58 years old.
Born on March 9, 1967, in El Salvador, Rosa brought warmth, joy, and light into the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a radiant spirit and an unmatched zest for life. Rosa was the heart of every family gathering—dancing, laughing, and lifting spirits with her vibrant personality. Her presence lit up any room, and her love of music and dancing made her the soul of every celebration.
Rosa was a devoted mother to her beloved 17-year-old son, Matthew, who was the pride and joy of her life. She leaves behind a family who adored her deeply: her mother, Maria Rosario; her sisters, Norma Elizabeth and Diana Carolina; and her brothers, Milton, William, Jonathan, and Daniel. Rosa had a uniquely beautiful and inseparable bond with her sister Norma—the kind of best friendship that only sisters could share.
She was preceded in death by her loving father, Francisco Mendoza, and her beloved grandmother, Mama Rosa, whose legacy of strength and warmth she carried with her every day.
Rosa’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched—with her laughter, her courage, her unwavering love for her family, and her infectious spirit. She taught us all to dance through life, even during the hardest battles.
A visitation / velorio for Rosa will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Valhalla, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606.
