Vera Steele first danced on the stage of life in San Diego, California on May 25, 1928. She was one of five children and was dedicated to her mother, Rosa. Vera was a devoted wife and mother whose passion was dancing. Whether ballroom, jazz, or square dancing, she was never far from the dance floor whenever she could take a break from her role as a loving wife and mother. She had a keen sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Vera worked at a couple of jobs to bring money into the family so that her family could attend movies and theatrical productions. Vera was a loyal and dedicated wife to her husband Virgil. In her later years, Vera supported numerous charitable causes to help eradicate disease, poverty, as well as religious causes. A devoted practicing Catholic, she never missed Sunday mass.
Vera is survived by her son, her sister, two granddaughters, three nephews, two nieces, and numerous people whose lives were touched by her spotlight of love and laughter.
