Alexander Logan Schachter

July 9, 2003February 14, 2018

Alex Schachter, 14, resided in Parkland, Florida for the last eight years. Alex was tragically killed during the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018. He was a sweetheart of a kid! As a freshman, Alex loved the marching band and played the trombone and baritone as part of the Eagle Regiment band - one of the top marching bands in the state of Florida! He is survived by his heartbroken parents, three siblings, grandparents and countless cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. In an effort to continue his memory, this scholarship is being created to help other students experience the joys of music as well as fund increased security at schools. Please help keep Alex’s spirit alive.

This page has been set up by the family of Alex Schachter in Coral Springs, Florida. The money raised will be sent to The Stoneman Douglas Marching Eagles and be utilized for the purposes mentioned above. Thank you all for your support and generosity.

My band teacher had played videos of their band class playing, and looking into the brass section and seeing such dedication in the student's eyes was what made me know i wanted to play these, and I wish I knew the kid personally, because i really look up to him, and my friend Kerri knew him, and i saw how devastated she was, from my band family, to your family, rest in peace

I've never met Alex, but I send my condolences out to his family and friends. I heard he was a great trombone player. He's in heaven, playing a trombone in a band with many others.
