

Alvin Octavious Brown, age 64, of Lauderhill, Florida passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015. He was born on October 4, 1951 in St. James, Jamaica to the late Cornelius and Gladys Brown. He was a longtime resident of Birmingham, England. However he lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for the last 23 years.
After graduating from Handsworth Wood Boys’ School in Birmingham, England, Alvin was employed as an assembly worker for British Leyland and a factory worker for Cadbury Chocolate before starting an independent taxi service. He moved to South Florida in 1992 where he worked as a Warehouse Associate with National Distributing Company, Inc. for approximately 10 years. In 2004, he began working for Earth Media, in Pompano Beach, FL. He was a Bailer Operator at his time of passing.
Alvin was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a loving brother, a thoughtful uncle, and a kind and loyal friend to many. He loved helping people and his sense of humor was a constant reminder to enjoy life. He believed in order and loved God.
He is survived by his four children - Sonia Howell, Fiona Law (Stephen), Latoya Brown, and Dwayne Brown; three grandchildren - Tia Law, Aaliyah Law, and Matteus Law; four brothers - Dudley Brown, Anthony Brown, Michael Brown, and Devroy Brown; two sisters - Avlin Blake and Cynthia Brown; his uncle - Derrick Johnson; four aunts - Laurice “Nettie” Brown, Lelieth “Nettie” Johnson, Faye Samuels, and Cathlyn Munroe; six nephews, eight nieces, and many friends.
