Anita was born May 5, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, but much of her adult life was spent upstate in Hudson, NY. The former Anita Glickman married her high school sweetheart Arthur Goldberg in 1944, and by 1951 they were a family of four with two sons. Arthur and Anita would eventually open a shoe store which they ran successfully for decades.
Retirement and the inevitable move to Florida came in the 70’s. Condo living, swimming pools, golf, cruises and friendships all consumed their days in Margate, but all that wasn’t enough; so, part time jobs entered their lifestyle. While Arthur was busy as President of the Condo Association, Anita sold shoes (what else?) at the flea market. In her 80’s, she was told she was the best sales person on the floor. Tradition! Tradition!
Her greatest love were her children, grand children and great grandson. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. After Arthur passed away in 1998, the kids had her full and undivided attention. They would go to her for advice, as well as the hugs and kisses. She would spend her last three years with the family in Connecticut. She died peacefully in her sleep on June 14, 2021 having spent 98 full years as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Anita is survived by her sons Marc and
Stephen, her brother Barton, her niece Fern and nephew Alan,
her four grandchildren Alyssa, Aaron, Leah, and Rachel, her great grandchildren Ryan, David, and Natalie, and her brand new great grandson, Arthur.
A funeral service for Anita will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2:45 PM at Star of David Memorial Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.starofdavidfuneralchapel.com for the Goldberg family.
