Ann Hirschberg, age 98, of Tamarac, died peacefully at home of heart failure on Tuesday July 4, 2023. She was born in Yonkers, NY on August 25, 1924 to Louis and Rachel (née Gralitzer) Bernhardt. She graduated from Yonkers High School and then went to trade school to become a medical assistant. She had a brilliant mind and always regretted that she couldn't afford to attend college. In 1946 following World War II, she met the love of her life, Melvin Hirschberg. They wed October 2, 1948. They had two daughters, who she stayed home with and raised. She was very active in Jewish based charities. She loved to do crossword puzzles, and played tennis, mahjong, and canasta. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Stoller, Silt, CO; her three grandsons, Jason (Elizabeth) Stoller, Bala Cynwyd, PA; Joshua and Jonathan Kinchen, Tamarac, FL; her two great-grandsons, Jake and Kyle Stoller, Bala Cynwyd, PA; and her brother Saul Bernhardt, Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Randi Kinchen and her husband of 62 years, Melvin Hirschberg. The family is grateful for the companionship and care that Judith Charles provided Ann over her last 14 years. Funeral and internment were held on July 6 at the Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, North Lauderdale, FL.
