Arnold Shapiro, age 92, Boynton Beach, FL formerly of Charlotte, NC and Brooklyn, NY died in his home on December 24, 2021. At the young age of 17, Arnold sang with La Scalla Opera and later the New York City Opera. He was singing at the Shanks Paramount in the Catskills when he met and later married his wife of 63 years. He is a graduate of Hunter College and went on to earn a PhD in Psychology from Perdue University.
He is survived by his wife, their daughter and son in law, and his two beloved grandchildren. He is predeceased by his dear son, Ira and his brothers Marvin and Jerry.
Funeral and internment, Monday December 27 at 11:45am at Star of David Cemetery, 7801 Baily Rd., North Lauderdale , FL 33068. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Housing Works (Braking AIDS Ride) or Citymeals on Wheels both in New York City.
