It’s with great sadness that our family says good bye to our beloved Barbara Bolnick, nee Regen; doting wife of the late Alfred Bolnick; adoring mother of the late June Grouf Nadell; caring daughter of the late Harry and Lillian Regen, kind sister of the late Pvt. Chester Regen, the late Ruth Wior Friedel, and the late Arthur “Al” Regen; loving aunt of Chester and Henry Wior and Chester Martin and Karen Regen; thoughtful great aunt of Mary Wior and June Wior Padua; Kimberly Wior Howze and Michael Wior; Zoe and Isaiah Levine; and Helaina and Andrew Regen-Tuero; and dear great great aunt of Anthony Padua and Kathryn Howze.
Barbara served as a buyer for intimate apparel and women's accessories for Sultana Stores in New York before retiring and moving to Lauderdale Lakes, Florida in 1973 with her husband Alfred. A longtime resident of Hawaiian Gardens, Barbara enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: going out to a movie or to catch an early bird special with her snowbird friends. After Alfred passed, she missed the companionship but found joy in new friends made doing hospice volunteering.
Barbara was blessed with good health but her long life was no accident. She did an exceptional job looking after herself, surviving early stage breast cancer - the same disease that tragically cut her daughter June’s life short.
In Barbara’s final years, when she could no longer live independently, she received exceptional care at Leisure Living of Victoria Park. We would like to express our gratitude to Swaby for making sure Barbara got home-cooked meals and was always as comfortable as possible.
