Bernice was born in NYC to Bessie and Louis Goldsmith, one of five children. She met and married Murray Granat at 18 years old, and had a 50+ year love affair. They lived in the Five Towns of LI before moving to Inverrary when it was first developed.
She has two sons, Harvey( Phyllis) and Richard(Jennifer), 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren She is also survived by her beloved younger sister Sissy Hollenberg, her sister in law Dorothy Goldsmith and many nieces, nephews and cousin.
Bernice had a long career as a very successful interior designer. She decorated many of the homes in Inverrary and other South Florida communities.
An avid golfer, she had two holes in one, was club champion and played into her 90’s. She was also an avid card player, and played until very recently. Her greatest love was for her family and she knew everything about everyone. Speaking to them daily kept her up to date. Music was also a big part of her life and she knew the words to most songs. She was an incredible role model for all who knew her and will be missed but never forgotten.
