Dear Marlene and family,

I will try to reach you in a more personal way as well, but wanted you to know how sorry I was to hear about Bernie. As you know, he was one of my favorite relatives. His tremendous disposition, always friendly and smiling, and as I always said, a ‘Mickey Mantle look-alike’! As my sis just wrote, we both remember his flaming red hair when we were kids, and I enjoyed so much the family gatherings in Philadelphia and Toronto in recent years. Bernie will truly be missed, and I’m sure by many in the community as well.

I know that recent years have been difficult for both Marlene and him, losing a son not long ago. I was sure that this took a lot out of Bernie, and again, I send all of you my loving condolences.

I am so sorry to hear of Bernie's passing.  I worked with Bernie for over 15 years and he was certainly a person who loved to challenge the norm.  I have grown to love him and along with his son Rob over the years.   Marlene , Camille and I are very sad.  What I know he lived a full life.

I was privileged to be associated with Bernie Koppel as a customer since the mid 1990's and then as an employee at Interplex Sunbelt in 2005. He was firm but fair and I have great regard & memories of him. He lived a full life & will be sadly missed.
