Beverly Palumbo, 92, of Coconut Creek, Florida passed peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 15, 1933, Beverly was the oldest daughter of Mollie and Albert Kamm. Beverly graduated from Brooklyn College in 1954 with a degree in teaching. She married Nathan "Nick" Palumbo on May 16, 1953. She was a loving and devoted wife for 69 years, until his passing in 2022. They raised their children, Michael, Laurie and Robert, in New York, Maryland and New Jersey, and then retired to Florida in 1986. She and Nick traveled extensively, especially after retirement, with trips to Europe, China, Japan, Israel, Egypt, and the Caribbean. Their most favorite trips, however, were their multiple cross-country road trips, where they visited National Parks, historic sites, and family along the way.
Bev was a natural performer. In her late teens, Beverly began a career as a professional band singer. Her passion for singing and performing would continue throughout her entire life. She performed in community theater in New Jersey and in Florida. She was best known for her role as Golde in various productions of Fiddler on the Roof. She was most proud of her performance in the challenging role of Aldonza in Man of La Mancha.
She was a founding member of the Township Theater Group in Coconut Creek, Florida. Besides singing and performing, she became the director of the group's annual musical revue. For over 20 years, she had afforded countless seniors the opportunity to continue their love of performing to an audience. Bev also graced many family occasions and weddings with her singing. She could bring everyone to tears with Sunrise, Sunset and bring down the house with Birth of the Blues.
Bev was a wonderful cook and gracious hostess. Her home and heart were always open to friends and family. To the very end of her life, her social calendar was always full. She loved live theater, playing Mahjong every Saturday, and lunches with friends old and new. She maintained a close group of dear friends, some of whom she met in retirement, and some she knew from childhood.
Most importantly, Bev loved her family fiercely. She was a devoted daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and most recently, great-grandmother. She was always there for everyone, as our champion and #1 fan. The love she had for all who were lucky enough to know her was exemplary and a sign of a life well lived.
Survivors: Beverly is survived by her children: Michael Palumbo (Amy), Laurie Palumbo, and Robert Palumbo (Joanne); her grandchildren: Jacob, Samuel, David, Benjamin, Derek (Lacey), and Chet (Nicole); and her great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Ariana, and Mila. She is also survived by her sister Myrna Kranis and brother Irwin Kamm as well as countless loving cousins, nieces, and nephews
