by Danielle Silverman - "If there is one thing my Dad has taught me, it was to find the funny in every situation. Unfortunately on this day there is no funny to find. My Dad was a caring, funny, sweet, sensitive man who put everyone but himself first. He cared more about helping others than helping himself. SIMPLE describes him perfectly; all he needed was the clothes on his back, the shoes on his feet, and the smiles on the faces of the people he loved. My Dad was more than my Father, he was also my best friend. I could count on him for anything. If there was anything that my brother and I needed, he made sure we had. Even if he was busy at work he would leave to just bring us breakfast after we woke up. His heart was made of gold. I can recall one night like it was yesterday... My family had went out to dinner and as we came outside an elderly man collapsed. My Dad bolted to the man's side. He tried CPR on the unconscious man but it was too late. The ambulance eventually arrived and took the man to the hospital. My Dad, being the caring person he was, dropped my mom and I off at the house and went to the hospital. He ended up sitting with the man's family for several hours. There are many stories I can share with you all about how great my dad was, but I chose this one specifically because it proves how kind-hearted and caring he was. The most important thing is that everyone who knew my Dad has only good things to say. He would never do anyone wrong. I will never forget the closeness my brother and I shared with him or how his loving personality shined right through his baby blues. He is one more guardian Angel we have watching over us, and I hope that he can finally rest now. I am blessed to have known such an amazing person and I will forever cherish his memories."Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:45am at Star of David Funeral Chapel with entombent following on the grounds.
