Clementina Aurora Bispham was born the morning of Thursday, January 10, 1924, to Joseph Bispham, a laborer on the Panama Canal and Albertha Carr, a Master Chef for the Elks Club in Colon, Republic of Panama, where she was raised and completed her schooling as a Cosmetologist. Shortly after, she met and married her first love, Alberto Connolly Sr., a Master Electrician from Colon and from that union she birthed two beautiful children Alberto Jorge Connolly Jr and Alicia Melida Connolly-Baker. After 8 years, the marriage came to an end and in 1956, with hopes of raising her children in the USA away from political restraints and oppression she made the difficult choice to leave her children behind with their father and migrate to Los Angeles, California to work for a family as a domestic aide and support her children financially back home. Three years later she relocated to Harlem, NY and sent for her children to live with her. Clementina later met and remarried, Mortimer A. Brown whom she spent two years with but due to his demanding career as Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia in NY, the marriage quickly came to an end. With the focus on providing a good life for her children, she began a job working at Duro pen as a tech until she was able to retire. At the brink of retirement, she met her life partner Randolph S Simmons (Sony), with her children having started lives of their own she and Sony purchased a home and relocated to Jamaica, NY. Together they cruised the open seas and committed to travel the world with the company of their long life childhood friends, which included Alda and Chichi. In the interim of the best years of her life, Sony passed away and Clementina decided to relocate to Florida to be near her son and his family. After a few years of living by herself in Florida her childhood best friend Alda moved in with her and together they shared their golden years.
Clementina was a devout member and one of the mothers of Faith Life Deliverance Ministry, in Pompano Beach, Florida. Clementina continued a self-sacrificing life of helping others until September 23, 2020 at 8:58PM when she heard “Well done thy good and faithful servant, come home and take your rest”. Clementina will be dearly missed by all.
