To Donna, Lauren, Amy and families:

Dolores and I want to extend our condolences at this difficult time. I was so sorry to hear of David's passing, but will always remember him fondly. He was such a great friend and so intelligent and funny. Whether it was sports or life, I always enjoyed talking with David. He was brutally honest on all subjects, and I loved that about him. He also cared deeply about his friends and family. He showed so much courage and overcame tremendous adversity. And in the last decade of his life, he would talk about his family and the joy he got from you in such glowing terms. He loved all of you so much. I will miss David and his laugh and am grateful that I got the chance to have his friendship during my life.

David was one of my oldest friends, as we met in 4th grade, PS 114, Belle Harbor. Although we lost touch over the later years of adulthood, we got back in touch after I found him on Facebook a few years ago. It has been wonderful sharing old memories of when we were kids, and sharing in the joys of the families we've raised, the people we love and who love us. Although that has now ended, the memory of David will always be alive in all who knew and loved him, and is surely for a blessing! Rest in peace, dear friend. You will be missed!
