Delcie Yohai Bucknoff was born May 12 1934 in Bronx, New York and died on Sep 13 in Miami Florida. She leaves behind her sister Kitty Hattem of Delray Beach FL, her brother Oscar Yohai of Bonita Springs FL, her nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Delcie graduated the Evander Childs School in New York and worked for the government as a secretary before moving to Florida where she held positions as a hostess, and then on to Israel. Proud of her Judaic heritage as a descentant of 2nd century rabbi Simeon ben Yohai - she spent 1 year in Israel on a kibbuz before moving back to NY.
In New York, she married Lou Bucknoff, and tragiclly after giving still birth to their first child, Lou passed within a few weeks. Delcie then decided to move back to Florida where she has resided for over 40 years. Before retiring, she held possitions as legal secratary, hostess, and in hotel managment at iconoc hotels such as the Fountainbleu on Miami Beach.
Over time she undertook as hobby visiting flea markets and yard sales with her friends where she developed an extensive collection of figurines, mostly cherubs. Since about 1990 she lived on the water in north miami, something she'd long dreamt of. As her health waned in recent years she came to reside at Hazel Cypen Tower on the campus of Miami Jewish Health Systems.
Delcie cared very much about her family, and was always close and loving and will be sorely missed. She will be remembered as a gracious, kind, loving and friendly person who liked people and loved making friends. We are certain god has enlisted her to do work for him and befriend others to make their existance in heaven happier.
