Ed was a special friend. When I raced motocross for 5 years, Ed was there for me almost every week as my Podiatrist to help with all my injuries and got me back on my feet as not to miss any races....and save me from losing precious series points. We rode to Daytona together and had a blast, once circling the Beltway by accident after getting bleary eyed from driving and talking! He called a food stop "Forks and Knives" as indicated by the food stop drawings on the Interstate! He GAVE me my first Vintage motorcycle, a rare 1975 Suzuki RE5 Rotary Engine that I have since been on a one month tour throughout the USA. I still own the machine and all the Provenance it came with......as well as a RARE RE5 belt buckle given only to dealers that he acquired. I enjoyed all the Field Meets at CIMC, his lifetime club. He was a unique guy who I understood and enjoyed our countless conversations. Ed Szerlip was a talented Podiatrist and true motorcyclist who I will never forget. Godspeed Ed!

You passed away last month and I just heard about it today.  Saddened to hear of your passing.  You've been a part of my motorcycling life since the 80s.  I hope your passing was peaceful.  I thank you for keeping in touch, even though you left New York for Florida.  Please give my regards to Stan Botway, Phil O'Hagan and Ed Busse.  I'm sure I'll be seeing you ALL soon enough.

So incredibly sad to hear of Doc's passing. Our hearts weep. Our deepest sympathy to your family. I hope these photo memories from years past might bring a smile in remberance.

Ed (Doc) and I served in AMA CONGRESS for decades. We traveled together in his BMW many times. He and Joyce will always be remembered fondly.

Doc, we have such great memories of the children’s events we worked together and group rides you lead so many years ago. Thank you for your continuous attention to detail. It always kept us safe and ready for the next adventure. You will be missed!

Doc was a good friend to my Mom June Quinn, and to all the Acres residents.  He was a great guy, and always willing to help…he will be sorely missed.  Rest in Peace Doc. -   Sharlene

To Joyce and Family, we are so sorry to hear of Doc’s passing.  We have many  memories to think back on in his absence.  He was a great rider and kept us all safe and in line. So many rides, dinners and club events together.   We’ve enjoyed keeping in touch with him via Facebook over the past few years since we’ve left SoFlo.  He touched many people and will be missed.
