Estelle Lourie - loving wife, devoted mother, sister, and proud grandmother. Estelle Lourie passed away from complications from chronic illnesses on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the age of 76. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18th at 10:30 am at the Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel located at 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. Committal services will follow at the Burial in the Garden of Aaron at Star of David Memorial Gardens.
Estelle was born November 14, 1942 in Plymouth, Massachusetts to parents Harry and Fannie Arons. Estelle graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Nursing. She worked as a nurse specializing in palliative care and clinical research in pharmaceutical drug development.
Estelle Lourie, also known as the Lady in Red and amethyst Angel was a kind hearted and generous woman who always chose sweet over savory, and purple over any other color in the rainbow. Most of all, she loved her family. She raised two wonderful children, Amy Rein and Douglas Holland and was married to her love, Marvin Lourie, for 30 years. She had a very special relationship with her sister Arlene Tubis who was her best friend. Estelle admired her son-in-law Mitchell Rein and adored her grandchildren Katelyn and Jennifer Rein and Deigo Holland. She is also survived by her step children Brian Lourie and his wife Heidi and Darren Lourie, grandchildren Rebecca, Heather, Caitlyn, Anna, Ava, Jenna and brother-in-law Michael Tubis. Estelle was predeceased by her wonderful sister, Marilyn Cohn and her step daughter, Michele Natanel. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will sit shiva immediately following the funeral and committal services at 12229 Rockledge Circle, Boca Raton, FL 33428 and on Tuesday, March 19th from 2:00- 4:00 pm as well as 6:00- 9:00 pm and Wednesday, March 20th from 2:00- 4:00 pm.
