My deepest compassion to Andrea and her family, at this heart-breaking time......Andrea and I grew up together in the first decade of our young lives. We spent a lot of time at each others homes, so I got to know her mom Esther very well......she was always such a nice person with a BIG personality and fun to be around! She was also very funny, and had a way of talking and being, that was so cute to me. The picture of her here, is exactly how I remember her 70 years ago!! Is'nt it amazing that her beautiful spirit shines thru all these years later..... I'm glad to have known Esther, and send my love to Andrea. With sympathy and prayers, Tammy Falcone

She was a woman of great kindness and brought a smile to everyones face when she entered the room with her dynamic personalty  she was always the brightest star. I am sure she will do the same in heaven with my mom (Shirley) because when they got together they would be a team of hashem's most beautiful angels that would make the room emanate with charm and charisma

Grandma was a warm and sweet person who cared about everyone around her. She dedicated her retired life to improving lives of those that she helped watch over in her apartment complex. She always gave me really good advice and she always showed that she loved me in every way she could. We could all learn a lot by living as she did. 

My mother Esther, Nanny was loving, caring, strong. She loved to talk to everyone & quite frequently would love to introduce us kids and her grand kids to everyone she knew because she was proud of us. She loved to dance. And when she made up her mind to do something-she did it.
A time very special to me- She was in the delivery room with my former spouse to help bring my beautiful daughter into the world and when she left the hospital she said “ I feel like I just had a baby”. 
She told me I was a gift to her-because when her mother died, she found out she was pregnant with me.
She was  there for me during the hardest time of my life, when I became a single parent - Times I cried -she hugged me and cried. She brought me up when I was down and gave me confidence to believe and have faith for the future. She stood by me in my worst times and made them easier to go thru. She would say “Better Days are Coming”
She helped me to raise a very successful daughter who served in the Navy and recently went to Harvard University. I couldn’t have done it without her. She went with me and my daughter to the street to deliver food to a homeless man living at a gas station in Coral Springs because she had compassion for the human condition.
She volunteered at a Navy JROTC field competition at JP Taravella High School in which we had to feed 100s of students (12 schools), military personal and parents. It was a 14  hour day of work.
 I  had many enjoyable times with her when we would cook together for Thanksgiving and be together for every hurricane-playing Scrabble-her favorite game. 
She told me-“You have to fight for what you want and need in life” “Not to lay down and die”
On October 25, 2017 she told me to be patient -that I should be positive - have faith in God-she said go on living.  I used to joke with her and say “Be good” and she would say “No it’s too difficult to be good” Yes she was funny.  I carry your heart with me-I carry it in my heart

My mother, Esther, was  a compassionate person who enjoyed life. She loved to dance, music, cook, and children. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would talk to anyone and everyone. She would always say, "Don't get old!"
It was a testament to her nature that she formed many relationships where she lived.
Mom grew up in New York City and lived in tenement housing with her 12 siblings. They had very little money, if any but her Greek mother made sure they never went hungry. Her parents were from Greece, and migrated to New York. My mother was the only sibling who graduated high school. 
When my father got disabled from a heart attack she had four children to raise and raise she did. After my dad died many years later, she remarried and traveled the world and went on 41 cruises. Later she got divorced, and lived happily on her own. 
She flourished by working in her apartment building well into her 70s and had her own car service business taking people to the bank, store, doctor, etc. 
When I was young, she made the best Thanksgiving dinners. She would spend hours in the kitchen and even when it wasn't a holiday, she had the house cleaned and dinner ready by sometimes noon, or 5:00 p.m. She demanded a clean and tidy house. 
As an adult, she became my best friend, adviser, and a shining light of positivity. Her greatest quality was to encourage me to make the best of everything, NEVER give up, and face problems head on. She was a proud woman who believed that there was no obstacle that couldn't be overcome. To the end, at 88 years old , while she was dying she had an endless stream of friends dropping in to see her, pray for her, and talk to her. She was loved by many people. Mom has always been my support, strength, and comfort when times were tough.  It will be hard to cope without her - it leaves a void in my life. But I will draw strength from the things she taught me. I love you mom more than words can say. 


Andrea and family, Gary and I are so very sorry for your loss. It is times like these that we realize how precious life is. We hope the memories and love you shared will help to ease your pain. Lean on each other, lean on family, lean on friends, but most importantly, lean on God. We pray He wraps His loving arms around all of you and gives you comfort. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
