I got to know Florence when she moved into Gurwin Jewish Assisted Living in Commack, NY.  She was passionate about giving back to the community by doing charitable work and wanted to continue to do so in our community.  Florence was generous, kind and tough all rolled into one. The staff will greatly miss her spit-fire personality. May she rest in peace.

Florence was my next door neighbor forever in Mill Basin, Brooklyn.  My mother was very close to her and it was like having a relative living right next door. Florence and my parents would play Scrabble together on warm summer nights.   I'll have fond memories for the future.     Jay Bloomfield
