Fran Bollinger, matriarch of our loving family, was born in the Bronx, NY. She enjoyed a happy childhood on College Avenue with her parents Alice and Elias Malinow, and her older sister Dorothy. She graduated from Hunter College and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. She loved teaching kindergarten. She met Ira Bollinger, the love of her life, through a friend of Fran’s sister, and was married for 60 wonderful years. They moved to Miami in 1970, to raise their family. Family was everything to Fran, and her most cherished roles were wife, mother and grandma. She is survived by her loving husband Ira and their beloved children Ellen Rothenberg, Margie Greenberg, and son-in-law Mark, and her five precious grandchildren: Jared, Brandon, Gabrielle, Emily and Jake. She loved singing, playing piano, reading, writing poems, mah jong and bridge. She also loved spending time with cherished friends and was a second-mom to many of her children’s friends. She was the most loving, giving, cheerful and positive person and will live in our hearts forever.
