Hal Berman was born on February 7, 1952 in South Philadelphia to his late parents Mildred Pomerantz (Brown) and Frank Berman. Hal passed away on December 21, 2018 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is survived by his three daughters Nichole Girgenti (Berman), Jodi Abadie (Berman) and Jill Podbutzky (Berman); his siblings Marlene Berman, Ron Berman, Elise Abney, and Marci Maher-Deutsch; and survived also by three grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
Hal was a funny, down to earth, sarcastic man who found and made humor in everything. In his best years, he raised his young family in Philadelphia where he taught his three daughters when to hold and when to fold; made sure they had sharp math skills, important for playing a solid game of blackjack, calculating the best sporting odds, and when to place a trifecta on the horses. Hal, the middle of five children, is also remembered as being a very protective big brother to his little sisters.
He lived the last many years of his life in South Florida with his long time partner, Susan.
