He was born September 28, 1932 in Saratoga Springs, New York to Solomon and Frieda Fischer. Together with his parents and his sister, Esther, they lived on a small farm for a while. No one in the family drove, and Jack loved to tell the story about an old car they found on the farm that just sat there and did not get used but they would not sell it. The family eventually moved to Brooklyn.
As a young man, Jack worked at a Drugstore as a clerk. Around 1952, he met his future wife, Eileen. In 1953, Jack was drafted into the Army. Arrangements were made for the two to be married when he returned. He returned in February 1955 and two weeks later Eileen and Jack were married on March 5.
The couple lived in Brooklyn where they had three of their four children, Steven, Randi and Karen. The family moved to Long Island and their second son Ron was born. In 1973, the family moved to Tamarac, Florida.
Jack was proud of his Jewish faith and he would gladly give you answers to any questions you had.
