

Jacob Stateman passed away at home on February 5, 2016 with his family surrounding him. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley, his daughter Arlene, his son David, and his son in law Steve. He has 6 grandchildren. Joshua, Alyssa, Rachel Alison, Bonnie and Lauren and 2 in law grandchildren Michael and David.
Jacob grew up in Manhattan, New York. He served in WWII in the Spearhead Division under General Rose and survived the landing on Omaha/Normandy Beach. He helped to liberate Nordhausen Concentration Camp. Jacob served in the Korean War and lived on Kibbutz Gesher Haziv. helping to settle the State of Israel. After witnessing the atrocities of WWII and seeing the importance of Zionism, Jacob devoted his life to sharing Judaism with others. He was the religious leader of Temple Beth Shalom of Belle Glade, Florida 45 years. Jacob was a Cantor Soloist and led the Bar Mitzvah program of Temple Israel for three decades. He Enjoyed leading Shabbat services and Jewish education programs throughout Broward County at Emerald Park Nursing Home, Focal Point of South Broward and Century Village of Pembroke Pines.Services will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery 6411 Parker Ave West Palm Beach, Florida
