Our beautiful, beloved Jackie has passed away. Funeral services will be held at Star of David Mortuary at 7701 Bailey Road North Lauderdale, Fl. 33068 at 1:30 p.m. Friday 07/26/2024.
Born to Sally and Benjamin Suvalle, she was raised with her younger sister Miriam in Mattapan, Massachusetts on Blue Hill Ave. The beautiful blue eyed matriarch of our family, guided us through life with wisdom and laughter and thoroughly touched each of our hearts. She was extremely artistic, known for her exquisite penmanship, poetry, painting, sculpting, knitting but music became her greatest passion.
At the tender age of 19, she married Sidney, her lifelong partner. He charmed her with tootsie pops as she was working as a professional musician and stole her heart. They lived and loved for 55 years until his passing in 2008. Together they raised two cherished and devoted daughters, Jeri and Roni. They lived a seafaring life, yachting from Marthas Vineyard to Biscayne Bay in Florida.
Jackie always maintained the soul of a musician. She trained as a concert accordionist and vocalist and even though she was under age, she was sought after by music venues from Massachusetts to New York City. Her devoted father “Bucky” escorted her to all her venues. Due to her dedication to study and natural talent, she filled the room when she performed at Carnegie Hall at just 11 years old. Years later she was offered a contract with RCA Records.
Her love and devotion as a mother soon became her priorities. Consistency was everything to Jackie! Good or bad, she never made a promise she didn’t keep; always emphasizing, “YOUR WORD IS YOUR BOND”. There was no task too big or too small to demonstrate how special she was. She took pride in everything she did, from sewing our costumes, chauffeuring us around town, chaperoning our field trips, supporting our after school functions and sitting with us for hours mulling over schoolwork and projects. She was the voice of calm in a storm and the person we could always depend on. She would offer encouragement when we need it and helped us apply the brakes before we drove off a cliff! The voice of reason and compassion, anticipating what we wanted or needed without asking. In a word, she embodied the best of MOM!
Her relationships were her life! She was extra special without realizing it. Jackie was genuinely interested in other people. As an active listener, her unassuming nature allowed access to deeper and more meaningful relationships. Every person she met would innocently engage with her inner beauty.
Jackie Margolis was a beacon of love and resilience, whose life inspired all who knew her.
With the heaviest of hearts, she leaves behind her two devoted daughters Jeri Margolis Glazer and Roni Margolis Liddy, her son in law Dr Timothy Liddy that she considered her son, her younger sister Mimi Frank, her loving granddaughter Bari Leigh Sinoyannis, married to Nascar Engineer and “sweetheart” Alex Sinoyannis, her Grandson, Jay Glazer, whom she was so proud of, married to the beautiful Mirieli (who is about to give birth to twins), George and Kodi Sinoyannis, her precious great grandchildren who were the apples of her eye.
