She was born to William P. and Sadie Hahn on December 25, 1925 in New York. After graduating from high school, Jackie chased her dreams to serve in the US Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945. She met her husband, Hy Shapiro several years later and they were married for 39 wonderful years until he passed away in 1992. Together, they had three children, Ralph (deceased; Mary Anne: wife deceased), Paul (wife, Dina), and Tina. Jackie has one sister, Miriam Shopenn (deceased), and one brother, Larry Hahn. Also, survived by grandson, William and granddaughter, Hannah, and numerous family members and friends.
Jackie’s passions were shopping and playing Mahjong with her close friends. She was definitely known for her sense of humor. Jackie was dedicated and devoted to her family and friends. She will forever be missed, but never forgotten. We love you, Jackie!!
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 am on September 30, 2021 at the Star of David, Garden of Tiberias 28-4, 7701 Bailey Road, N. Lauderdale, FL 33068. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
