May 14, 1948 – October 19, 2025
Janet Wallace, 77, of North Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 19. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Janet carried the unmistakable spirit of Brooklyn with her wherever she went — sharp-witted, outspoken, and full of heart.
She spent her career working in pharmacies in both Brooklyn and Florida, where she built connections through her humor and warmth until her well-earned retirement. For the past 20+ years, she made her home in North Lauderdale with her son, Jason, who was the center of her world.
Janet was many things — the family historian, keeper of birthdays, and a woman who spoke her truth without hesitation. She was unapologetically herself, playfully provocative, and big-hearted. Janet was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor.
She is survived by her beloved son, Jason Zaimoff; her sister, Beth; her brother-in-law, Fred; nieces Stefanie and Cara, and their spouses, Erin and Jon; nephew Matthew; her six grand nieces and nephews; aunt Evelyn; and cousins Cheryl, Barri, Larry, Ronnie, Arnie, and Alan. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother Lee, and birthmother Pearl; her father, Sam; her husband, Les; Uncle Julie, and cousin Dianne.
Janet’s voice, laughter, and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed, always remembered, and fondly retold — just as she would have wanted.
