Born to Morris and Rachel Algaze, Jennie lived a life defined by her active nature, her artistic eye, and a profound pride in her heritage.
A Life of Passion and Connection
Jennie was a woman who embraced life with energy. An avid tennis player and bowler, she also found joy and community at the Mah Jong and Canasta tables. Her creativity shone through her artwork, and her impeccable sense of style was her trademark. To the very end, Jennie was a portrait of grace—always dressed impeccably with matching jewelry and a shade of lipstick that perfectly complemented her ensemble.
Family: Her North Star
Above all else, Jennie’s heart belonged to her family. She lived for milestone celebrations and family gatherings; for Jennie, no distance was too far when it came to those she loved. She would truly travel to the ends of the earth for her family, and nothing could stop her from being there for the people who meant the most to her.
Her Jewish identity was a cornerstone of her life, and she wore her faith with immense pride, symbolized by the Star of David she always wore around her neck.

She is survived by:
• Her Children: Gary Steven Platteis and his wife Patrice; Jeffrey Kenneth Platteis and his wife Lioudmila; and her daughter, Ronni Ellen Hochman.
• Her Grandchildren: Jacob Dylan Platteis; Michael Benjamin Hochman and his wife Kathy Dickerson Hochman; and Julie Rachel Hochman Eiben and her husband Guillermo Eiben.
• Her Great-Grandsons: Jake Ryan Hochman, Benjamin Manuel Eiben, and Rafael Mateo Eiben.
Jennie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory remains a blessing—a reminder to live life with color, commitment, and a perfectly matched coat of lipstick.
