It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Ellen Klein who now rests eternally. A beautiful and compassionate human being. Joanie was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and spent the last 30 years living in Plantation, Florida. She was lover of dogs, friends to all, and a loving spouse.
Joanie was president of, WHAM, a woman's organization that gave out yearly scholarships. She made and distributed gourmet chocolate candy with pride. She is survived by her loving husband, Fred, sister Janice, nephew Craig, and niece Carina.
Many a friend and acquaintance were taken in by her wit and humor, and most thankfully we all have oceans of memories to remember her by.
A funeral service for Joan will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 2:00 PM at Garden of Sharon - Bailey Memorial, 7801 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Joan's memory to The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBBC).
