Judith Schary, age 91, of Lauderhill, Florida passed away March 1, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones and music. She was born to parents Joseph Davidoff and Belle Davidoff, June 2, 1932 in Queens, NY. She was married to Emanuel Schary in 1951. Judy is survived by her three children, daughter Abby Bookhultz (Ricky) of Little River SC; son David Schary (Denise Chait) of Cary, NC; daughter Anne Stoloff (Randy) of Palm Bay, FL; brother Sidney Davidoff (Linda Stasi) of NY, NY, four grandchildren and devoted caregivers.
Judith, was known to all as Judy and Judy the dancer. She was a star athlete early on, excelling in softball and swimming as a teen and worked summers as a lifeguard. She was a straight “A” student throughout her school years. She met Emanuel Schary at her workplace and upon meeting, he asked if she would like to share his sandwich. They married three months later, finding true love. Her ensuing years included many milestones as her children grew and her husband, “Manny”, became a renowned international artist. As manager and promoter of his talent and work, his artwork is displayed in hundreds of museums and places of worship, including the Vatican, Smithsonian, Metropolitan Museum of Art and many prominent locations throughout Israel.
Judy was a woman who slept very little and occupied her waking hours keeping busy with the things she loved. She completed hundreds of puzzles, read several books a week, achieved membership in the 600 Club of Bowling as well as becoming a bowling instructor. Golfing was a large part of her life and as a scratch golfer, often was invited to play with men’s teams.
Her memberships included numerous rolls on many boards, organizing and catering social events for golf, card and dance clubs, B’nai B’rith, Hadassah, and synagogue sisterhood. Wherever she resided, she formed friendships, including the staff at her final residence. Her concern for others’ well being was one of her most endearing qualities.
She was a straight-forward individual, who spoke her mind and had a quick wit. Her last several life years were full, socializing with friends; making jewelry; attending horticulture classes; traveling to wildlife locations, cards, puzzles and books. She took pride in looking her best. She had shoes of every color, matching her daily wardrobe, for dancing and other activities. In addition, her love for music and dancing brought her much happiness. While challenged with balance, she did not stop dancing. Her walker became her trusted dance partner.
